Impression MaterialDental impression material like 3M Express Putty, Aquasil and others are commonly made of alginate, plyether and silicones, polyvinyl siloxane and come in different packaging and brand such as 3M ESPE, Kerr, Parkell to name a few. An impression is carried out by placing a viscous liquid material into the mouth usually in a customized tray. The material then sets to become an elastic solid, and when removed from the mouth retains the shape of the teeth.
